Applied Economics Partners provides sophisticated economic analysis, expert testimony and strategic management consulting to law firms, corporations, industry associations, and government agencies across the country. For over a decade, the members of our firm have applied comprehensive, state-of-the-art, and innovative analyses to a wide range of economic issues. We have played key roles in the outcomes of numerous lawsuits and regulatory decisions.

AEP's primary focus is the application of economic theory and quantitative analysis to the resolution of commercial disputes and regulatory issues. Although much of AEP's work involves the economics of antitrust, intellectual property, and high technology (including hardware, software, and telecommunications), AEP has worked on a wide variety of economic issues in many different contexts. Other areas of expertise include the application of economic analysis to labor disputes, pharmaceutical and chemical litigation, corporate and business valuations, securities, banking and finance, energy, regulation, and all aspects of damages. In addition to litigation consulting, AEP provides a variety of general consulting services to corporations and other business clients.

Since its inception, AEP has been a pioneer in the analysis of damages claims in all types of litigation. AEP was one of the first consulting firms to apply sophisticated economic models to the analysis and calculation of damages. Further, AEP's Victoria A. Lazear is the co-author of the "Reference Guide on Estimation of Economic Losses in Damages Awards," an authoritative and well-respected guide the federal judiciary uses to evaluate damages claims.

AEP's experts and staff work closely with clients to identify and analyze all relevant economic issues and to provide a wide range of consulting services. These services include initial strategic planning and advice regarding pre-trial discovery, drafting expert reports, deposition testimony, and critiques of opposing expert opinions; and preparing and presenting powerful and articulate trial testimony. AEP also offers an independent evaluation and due-diligence examination of opinions, analyses, and work performed by other experts. AEP works with independent experts from leading academic institutions, such as Stanford University, the University of Chicago, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As needed, AEP works with other consulting groups.
