Staff Bios: |
Victoria A. Lazear Ms. Lazear has over twenty-five years experience in the application of economic theory to issues in litigation and regulation. She provides expert testimony and directs research for other expert witnesses. Prior to forming Applied Economics Partners, Ms. Lazear was a vice president at Cornerstone Research, where she directed research for expert testimony in cases ranging from breach of contract to insider trading and regulatory issues. She also worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company where, as District Manager of Demand Analysis, she prepared and testified to rate proposals before the Illinois Commerce Commission. Ms. Lazear is co-author with Robert E. Hall of "Reference Guide
on Estimation of Losses in Damages Awards," in Reference Manual
on Scientific Evidence. She has testified in state court as well
as in regulatory hearings before state regulatory commissions. She also
has lectured on the economic analysis of damages and has taught a course
in business economics on regulation and public utilities at the Graduate
School of Business, of the University of Chicago. Mark A. Allen Mr. Allen works closely with academic experts, lawyers, and business clients to coordinate the discovery of relevant documents, data, and testimony on behalf of expert witnesses. He also is heavily involved in the development of litigation and general business strategies, assists in the preparation of expert reports, and works with experts to prepare for direct and cross-examination testimony in depositions and at trial. Prior to joining Applied Economics Partners, Mr. Allen worked as a trial lawyer and litigator in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. His experience includes cases involving labor and employment, mass tort and complex litigation, and general commercial business experience in both state and federal courts. He has participated in appellate practice before the United States Supreme Court, federal courts of appeals, and the Virginia Supreme Court. Mr. Allen has lectured on topics including breach of contract, torts, and labor and employment litigation. Katherine B. Allen Ms. Allen assists in all phases of litigation from pre-trial discovery
and analysis to preparation and support of trial testimony. She has
experience in organizing and analyzing large amounts of data, researching
complex information, and preparing exhibits for trial. |
